BEEF BRACIOLA IN WINE SAUCE

INGREDIENTS :

1 lb. Round steak
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tbsp. parmesan cheese, grated
breadcrumbs
hard-cooked egg, chopped
parsley, chopped
raisins
salt
pepper
oil
onion, sliced
1 tbsp. Unico Tomato Paste
1 can Unico Diced Tomatoes
½ tbsp. basil
1 bay leaf
4 oz. red wine

PREPARATION: Pound steak until ¼"/ ½ cm thick. Mix the garlic, cheese, breadcrumbs, eggs, parsley, and raisins together and spread over the beef, then season with salt and pepper. Roll beef up, jelly-roll fashion, and secure with toothpicks. Heat the oil in a pot and cook the onion for 5 minutes until golden. Add the beef roll and cook until browned all over, then add remaining ingredients. Cover the pot and simmer gently for 1 ½ - 2 hours. Remove the roll, slice crossways and serve with the sauce poured on top.
